amphiprion-ocellaris-5
Flurry Ocellaris Clownfish - Aquacultured - USA (QM Labs)
Amphiprion ocellaris

The QM Labs Flurry Ocellaris Clownfish, also known as an Anemonefish, should be added to a well-established aquarium with plenty of live rock structure and open swimming space. Known for its peaceful temperament and hardy nature, this species is reef safe, beginner-friendly, and a highly sought-after variation of the classic Ocellaris clownfish prized for its intricate and irregular white patterning with orange and black nose, tail and fins. The amount of white can vary significantly between individuals, with some exhibiting nearly continuous white patterning along the flanks, while others retain more classic banding. Juveniles typically show more defined structure that gradually expands and develops additional white coverage as they mature. Flurry Ocellaris Clownfish can reach about 3 to 4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in length and thrive in aquariums of 20 gallons or larger. Like all anemonefish, Amphiprion ocellaris forms a remarkable symbiotic relationship with sea anemones. They rely on their host anemone for shelter and protection, while providing food particles, water circulation, and cleaning benefits in return. In turn, the anemone benefits from the clownfish’s constant movement and defense against potential predators. In captivity, they will often adopt a suitable anemone relatively quickly (with the exception of unsuitable species such as Condylactis), creating a fascinating and natural mutualistic relationship within the aquarium. Flurry Ocellaris Clownfish can be territorial, particularly around their chosen host anemone, and may defend their space against other tank inhabitants. Thanks to advances in aquaculture, this variety is widely available in captive-bred form and readily accepts prepared foods such as pellets, flakes, mysis shrimp, and other high-quality frozen marine diets. Clownfish are also known for their unique social structure and ability to change sex. In the wild, groups are organized by a strict hierarchy with the largest individual acting as the dominant female. If the female is lost, the dominant male will change sex to take her place, ensuring the continuation of the group structure.

*Please note: The photo is a representation of the variant of clownfish you will receive. Younger specimens may not exhibit the full adult color, and may take time to fully develop certain colors and patterns which can differ based on the genetics of the parents.
