Like other pygmy angelfishes, it should be provided with plenty of rocks for grazing and hiding, a varied diet, and an appropriately sized aquarium. It grows to around 4–5 inches and generally needs a mature aquarium of at least 55–60 gallons, with plenty of live rock, caves, and swimming space. Maintain a temperature of 75–82°F, a pH of 8.1–8.4, and a salinity of 1.023–1.026. Feed a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, quality angelfish foods, and frozen mysis or brine shrimp several times daily. Woodhead’s Angelfish can be semi-aggressive toward other dwarf angelfish and may nip at corals, clams, and other invertebrates, so it is considered reef-safe with caution.
