Our inverts are for saltwater aquariums only. Please note, these are not freshwater crabs or land crabs and will not survive in freshwater or in a terrestrial environment.
The Horseshoe Crab is very unique crab that likes to dig through sand beds/substrate in search of worms and other debris. It will work nonstop at moving around the sand bed and substrate looking for food. They are reef safe but as they grow and get to adult size they can be harmful to small fish or invertebrates. When they are small they are fun to watch them move about the aquarium and clean up the substrate. Interestingly enough, Horseshoe crabs are not actual crabs. They are their own separate type "oder" of arthropod.
