Description
Congrogadus subducens
The name Green Wolf Eel Blenny is very deceiving because this fish is actually not an eel at all, but a Blenny. They are brownish-green in color with an elongated body that resembles an eel. They have a mottled pattern that is very appealing. This species is considered to be reef safe with caution because they will not bother coral but will snack on small fish and sessile invertebrates that can fit in their mouths. The Green Wolf Eel Blenny will grow to be over a foot in size and will need an aquarium with substantial swimming space. They inhabit the coastal waters of the Indo-West Pacific up to 10 meters deep. The Green Wolf are also often found in brackish conditions.
