Description

The Tiger Conch Snail, sometimes also called the Strawberry Conch, is originally from the warm waters of the Indo-Pacific. You can easily recognize it by its unique conical or cone shaped shell, featuring striking tiger stripes. The Tiger Conch Snail requires an environment with at least a 1-inch layer of sand. The tiger conch is an efficient member of your reef tanks General Clean Up Crew for cleaning algae and organic debris in the sand.

The amount of Tiger Conch Snails you need per tank depends on how much living activity is already happening in the aquarium. For cleaner tanks with less livestock, your conch snails may require supplemental feeding, as there might not yet be enough detritus or debris building up in your tank yet for the snail to feed on. You can supplement their diet by offering food to the snail like, mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and WWC Reef Mix, to keep them well fed and healthy.

Each snail grows up to 3 or 4 inches in a *saltwater aquarium. A group of snails can coexist peacefully if provided ample space for each individual. One snail needs a minimum tank of 10g, for bigger tanks plan for around 1 snail per 20 gallons of water. Tiger Conch Snails are fun to watch as they rasp algae off the glass and dig through the sandbed, and they contribute significantly to the health and balance of the underwater habitat.
