Description
Cheilinus trilobatum
Wrasses in this genus are generally known for being reef safe with caution as they will not bother with sessile invertebrates, however, they will snack on shrimp and crabs. The Tripletail Maori Wrasse is rarely seen in the aquarium hobby. They have a very detailed pattern that really makes it stand out. They do best with a varied diet of frozen meaty foods and marine pellets. This species of wrasse only requires a larger meal every couple of days. Provide an environment with plenty of hiding places and swimming space. They will grow to be about 18 inches and will need an aquarium with substantial space. The Tripletail Maori Wrasse inhabits lagoons and seaward reefs in the Indo-Pacific up to 30 meters deep.
