Trochus Snails are a popular choice for reef aquariums. They are helpful at munching algae off rocks and especially aquarium glass. Trochus snails are fun to watch when they are stuck to the inside of the glass because you get to see the muscles in their foot scooch along the glass, and watch their mouth gently rasping away at the algae. Trochus Snails are especially good at eating different kinds of algae, including green and slime algae. For *saltwater aquariums with sand, trochus snails make a great team with Nassarius Snails, the Trochus Snails clean the glass and rocks, while Nassarius Snails take care of the sand at the bottom. This teamwork helps keep the whole tank clean.

For Trochus Snails to do well, they need the right environment. This means having
enough algae for them to eat. If there isn’t enough natural algae, you might need to give them dried seaweed to keep them healthy. While Trochus Snails are great for helping with tank maintenance, it’s important to make sure they have what they need to stay healthy and keep contributing to your tanks ecosystem.
