Description

The Anemone Crab is an entertaining addition to a reef aquarium, favored for its peaceful nature and unique feeding mechanisms, the porcelain crab is easily recognizable by their flat, round bodies and prominent front claws. Their most distinctive feature, however, are the maxillipeds—front arms with feather-like ends—used for filtering plankton from the water, making them fascinating to watch as they capture their food.

In their natural habitat, Anemone Crabs often pair up and dwell among or beneath rocks, This means you should have an aquarium setup with plenty of live rock which serves dual purposes: providing refuge and aiding in their filter-feeding habits. Additionally, these crabs are reef-safe, coexisting harmoniously without disturbing other invertebrates or corals.
