Description
Genicanthus lamarck
Angelfish come in a large array of colors, patterns and sizes that make them very sought-after. Unlike Centropyge angels, this genus is known for having large adult sizes. The Lamarck Angel is a beautiful fish that can be the highlight of your display, but they do require some specific care. This fish can be shy at first especially during acclimation, so providing a lot of hiding places will help reduce its stress. As omnivores, they require a varied diet that includes frozen and prepared Angelfish foods, as well as flakes with Spirulina and Nori. They will grow to be about 9” in size and will need an aquarium of about 150 gallons when they are fully grown. The Lamarck Angel are found in the Eastern Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean. They inhabit coastal reefs and steep slopes in schools at up to 40 meters deep.
