Description
HYDROS Control X3-DO Dissolved Oxygen Controller
Oxygen is one of the most critical parameters in a marine aquarium, and one of the most commonly skipped. The HYDROS Control X3-DO changes that. It is a dedicated aquarium controller built around a specialized Dissolved Oxygen (DO) probe port, giving reef keepers a direct, real-time view of oxygen saturation in their system. Paired with the HYDROS app, it sends instant alerts the moment DO levels begin to fall, so you can act before livestock are at risk.
The X3-DO also includes two Sense ports for connecting temperature sensors, leak detectors, and other compatible accessories. It connects over 2.4GHz WiFi, requires no coding to set up, and is engineered, assembled, and supported at CoralVue's headquarters in Slidell, Louisiana.
Key Features:
- Dedicated Dissolved Oxygen probe port for real-time oxygen saturation monitoring
- Instant app-based alerts when DO levels drop below set thresholds
- 2 Sense ports compatible with temperature sensors, leak detectors, and more
- WiFi connectivity over 2.4GHz for remote monitoring and control
- App-based setup and operation, no coding required
- Made in the USA at CoralVue's Slidell, Louisiana facility
- Compatible with the broader HYDROS ecosystem of controllers and accessories
Ideal For:
- Reef aquarium keepers who want to monitor dissolved oxygen as a regularly tracked parameter
- Advanced hobbyists managing high-bioload systems where oxygen depletion is a real risk
- Aquarists who have experienced unexplained overnight livestock losses and want earlier warning systems
- Professionals or serious hobbyists who track multiple water parameters through a single app-based platform
- Anyone running heavily stocked tanks, coral propagation systems, or fish-only displays where gas exchange is critical
Pro Tips:
- Baseline your DO readings before relying on alerts. Dissolved oxygen levels fluctuate daily, peaking in the afternoon and dropping overnight. Run the probe for several days to set alert thresholds that reflect your tank's normal range, not a default.
- Pair the X3-DO with a quality skimmer or surface agitator. The controller signals when DO is low. Skimmers and agitators maintain levels. Monitoring is most useful with equipment to respond swiftly.
- Check probe placement. Dissolved oxygen readings vary depending on where the probe sits in the water column. Place it in an area with consistent flow, away from direct return pump output, to get the most representative reading of your system.
