Title: Maxspect Gyre Pro XFP1400 — Commercial Crossflow Pump for Ultra-Large Aquariums

The Maxspect Gyre Pro XFP1400 is a commercial crossflow flow pump built for ultra-large aquariums, moving up to 100 tons of water per hour (100,000 L/h, approx. 26,500 GPH) at a maximum of 400 watts. Unlike traditional powerheads and wavemakers, which push a narrow propeller jet that's strong in the center and weak at the far end, the Gyre Pro's crossflow technology moves a broad, even sheet of water across the whole aquarium. The flow bounces off the far wall and returns, creating a full-tank gyre circulation with virtually no dead spots — so oxygen-rich water, nutrients and plankton reach every coral and fish, and waste and organics get carried out instead of settling. Sine wave drive technology keeps this 400W pump near-silent, a real consideration in public galleries and living spaces. For scale: a 7 x 4 x 1.5 m exhibit (23' x 13' x 5') needs only four Gyre Pro XFP1400 units for full circulation, where propeller pumps would take twelve or more. It can also replace legacy dump bucket systems — aerating the surface and creating natural wave-like flow without the salt creep and maintenance headaches dump buckets are known for. World Wide Corals supplies the Gyre Pro line for public aquariums, zoos, research facilities, coral farms and the largest private reef systems.

Why crossflow beats propeller pumps at this scale

  • Virtually no dead spots — even flow across the entire aquarium, wall to wall
  • Full gyre circulation: water returns off the far wall for true whole-tank movement
  • No harsh center jet, so coral placement isn't dictated by the pump
  • Near-silent sine wave operation, even at 400W
  • Fewer units to buy, mount and maintain — 4 Gyre Pros vs. 12+ propeller pumps on a 23' exhibit
  • Replaces dump bucket systems — surface aeration and wave action without the salt creep

Specifications

  • Max flow rate: 100 tons/hour (100,000 L/h, approx. 26,400 GPH)
  • Max power consumption: 400W
  • Pump length: approx. 23" (flow spread across nearly 60 cm)
  • Technology: crossflow (gyre) with sine wave drive
  • Application: ultra-large and commercial aquariums — public exhibits, coral farms, large private systems
  • Warranty: 12-month manufacturer warranty

Installation note
Ultra-large aquariums aren't standard hobbyist tanks — mounting solutions are case-specific, and the required mounting components are custom-made and ordered separately. Talk to the WWC Commercial team before ordering so the mounting is spec'd for your tank.
