Pukani Dry Rock WYSIWYG #1

Description

All natural, straight from Fiji!

Pukani Dry Rock is one of the most sought-after aquascaping materials in the marine aquarium hobby, prized for its incredibly porous structure, lightweight composition, and natural reef-like appearance. Harvested from ancient reef formations with full CITES permits, and thoroughly dried, Pukani provides hobbyists with an environmentally responsible alternative to wild live rock while offering exceptional biological filtration potential.

Its unique, highly porous surface area supports extensive colonization of beneficial nitrifying bacteria, helping establish and maintain a healthy biological filter. The intricate shapes, tunnels, and cavities create stunning aquascapes while providing natural shelter and swimming pathways for fish and invertebrates.

Compared to traditional reef rock, Pukani is significantly lighter by volume, allowing aquarists to create large, dramatic structures with less overall weight. Whether used in reef aquariums, fish-only systems, or custom aquascape designs, Pukani Dry Rock serves as a perfect choice.

Key Features:

Highly porous structure for superior biological filtration
Lightweight and easy to aquascape
Natural reef-like appearance with unique shapes and textures
Provides caves, ledges, and hiding places for marine life
Environmentally friendly alternative to harvested live rock
Ideal for reef aquariums, fish-only systems, and custom aquascaping projects
As your aquarium matures, Pukani Dry Rock naturally becomes encrusted with coralline algae and beneficial microorganisms, transforming into a vibrant, living reef structure that closely resembles natural live rock.

Sizing- a bowling ball sized piece weighs between 3-4 pounds. Pieces vary in appearance. Shown are random pieces pulled from a single box of Pukani rock. For extra large pieces please reach out to us directly.

Note* because this is collected from an actual marine environment, the nutrients bound in the pores will release slight amounts of phosphates over the first few months in water. This can be easily handled through use of GFO or lanthanum chloride dosing. Sizing Guide

For a general rule of thumb -> 0.5–0.75 lbs of Pukani per gallon of display volume
A bowling-ball-sized piece typically weighs 3–4 lbs
We recommend ordering a little extra if you want flexibility to try different aquascape layouts before committing to your final buildout.

As with any dry rock, we recommend curing the rock prior to adding it to an established system.
