Description
The Passer Angels are very hardy and will acclimate well to aquarium as long as they have ample swimming space and a balanced diet. This angel can become aggressive as they grow, so choose semi-aggressive tank mates. Like any other angel, they can be aggressive with other angels or similarly size/shaped/colored fish. The Passer Angel can grow to be over a foot in size. Full grown adults of this angel will need at least 250 gallons, but you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. Like most large angels, the Passer will go through a color transformation from juvenile to adult. As a juvenile, they are mostly orange with blue vertical strips. Then they have a vibrant yellow caudal tail and blue outlining the other fins. As an adult their coloration will turn to a darker blue with thick white stripes. However, the blue stripes will become thinner and more abundant. Found in the Eastern Pacific Ocean around reefs that are abundant in algae and sponges to 30 meters deep.
