Multicolor Angelfish have recently become much more readily available in the aquarium trade. Dwarf Angelfish are all born as unsexed and begin adulthood as females with the most dominant fish becoming the male. Multicolor Angelfish should be added to aquariums with plenty of caves, cracks and resting areas. Angelfish have cheekspines, caution should be used when handling as well as avoiding a net when catching. Multicolor Angelfish are a bit shy but also can harass other peaceful fish it is recommended they should be housed with species that can hold their own. They are peach to orange colored body with black spots and a spot behind their eyes. Their dorsal and anal fins are a deep blue with a bright yellow caudal fin. Multicolor Angelfish are omnnivores and benefit from a diverse diet consisting of finely chopped frozen and prepared marine foods for omnivores such as mysis, squid, shrimp, or clams along with flake foods containing algae and spirulina. with regular small feedings twice a day to ensure optimum health. These Angelfish can grow up to 3-1/2 inches in size. It's recommended to house them in aquariums of 55 gallons or larger. In their natural habitat, Multicolor Angelfish steep reef slopes inbetween coral rich rubal areas at depths of up to 200 feet.
