Wrasse belonging to this genus are known as flasher wrasses. Bell's Flasher Wrasse should be added to aquariums with plenty of caves, cracks and resting areas. Paracheilinus Wrasse are known to be good jumpers and therefore should have a tight fitting lid. They are a quite peaceful fish that are easily harassed, therefore should be one of the last fish added to home aquariums. They also prefer to live in small harems with 1 male and several females. Females will encourage the most intense color in males. The male Bell's Flasher Wrasse is red, orange, yellow and purple or blue as they mature their coloration continues to intensify. Females will have less intense color. Bell's Flasher Wrasse are carnivores and benefit from a diverse diet consisting of finely chopped frozen and prepared marine foods for carnivores such as mysis, squid, shrimp, or clams. Regular small feedings 2 - 3 times a day to ensure optimum health. These Wrasse can grow up to 3 inches. It's recommended to house them in aquariums of 55 gallons or larger. In their natural habitat, Bell's Flasher Wrasse are commonly found near deep lagoons full of algae at depths of up to 100 feet.
