A secure lid is essential, as Golden Head Gobies may jump if startled. They thrive on a diet of meaty foods, including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood, which should be offered at least twice daily to meet their dietary needs. Growing up to 7 inches, they require a minimum tank size of 30 gallons. Native to the Indo-Pacific, Golden Head Gobies inhabit sandy reef zones, where they sift through the substrate for food, contributing to a clean and well-maintained aquarium. They can be found at depths of up 85 feet in the wild.
